Safety
Meeting someone from the dating channel
- Video or voice call before meeting in person — it's the easiest way to confirm someone is who their profile says.
- Meet in a public place for the first few times, and arrange your own way there and back.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and when you expect to be back. You can also add a trusted contact to your dating profile, who gets a one-time note when you start a new conversation.
- Take your time. There's no rush to share your address, workplace, or financial details with someone you've just matched with.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, you're allowed to leave, and to block and report the account.
Buying, selling, and renting
- Meet in a public place to exchange goods or view a property where possible.
- Never send money or a deposit for a property you haven't viewed in person.
- Be cautious of prices that seem unusually low, or anyone pushing you to decide quickly.
Blocking and reporting
Every profile, listing, and conversation has a report option. Blocking someone is immediate and mutual — they won't be able to see your profile or message you, and you won't see theirs.
If you're ever in immediate danger, please contact the emergency services (112) directly rather than relying on this platform.
